The Carpenters Arms is located on the edge of the bustling town of Market Weighton just off the A1079. It is a small town and civil parish in East Riding of Yorkshire and is one of the main market towns in the East Yorkshire Wolds, lying midway between Hull and York, about 20 miles from either one. This site is a small, cosy pub that consists of one long main bar area with log fire. There is a small kitchen perfect for serving homemade quality bar food that befits the trading style of this site. The Carpenters Arms has undergone a sympathetic refurbishment which has given the pub a new lease of life making it the quality 'real ale' site in the area. Externally there is a designated smoking area and a small area for outside drinking which has the potential to be the best garden in the town.
The Carpenters Arms has a friendly 'locals' atmosphere and serves a changing choice of guest ales, as many as six at once, including local and specialised ales available through Siba. The site holds the Cask Marque Award which recognises pubs that serve top quality real ale and this brings customers in from the surrounding areas. The pub also hosts quiz nights every Wednesday, live artists at the weekends and is the venue for home matches for the two darts team. This site would suit an assistant manager or established manager who is ready to take the next step in their career and run their own pub. You will need to be an open minded operator who is serious about developing a quirky, craft and draft ales offer. You will have excellent customer skills and outstanding knowledge of this sector so you are confident about the products you are selling at this new venture. It would be advantageous for the new operator to also have some food skills to create an offering to complement the real ales that will be served at the Carpenters Arms.
